costly if molds grew in it. Molds can destroy furniture, and ruin objects inside the basement. No homeowner would

Preventing the growth of molds in basement is easy. Here are some of the effective methods for
preventing molds in the basement:
1. Installing windows – Molds grow where
its dark and damp. Install several windows in your
basements or properly ventilate it in order for any dampness to air out. Windows can also
allow in some light, thereby decreasing the chances of molds growing.
2. Sealant – Apply sealant on tiny cracks on the walls to keep water and moisture out. Of
course, sealing would require more that applying sealant from the inside of the basement. You would have to apply
sealant along the outside wall of the
basement as well.
3. Basement Dehumidifier – Get a basement dehumidifier. This is one of the best-known methods and effective ways of preventing
moisture from seeping into your basement. A basement dehumidifier can simply sit in one small corner of the room
while preserving your basement furniture by keeping dampness at bay.
Keep in mind though that basement mold may still grow minimally regardless of these methods.
Regular assessment on the room is still required.
