Different Basement Wall Systems
The basement wall system is a very important aspect of your basement. The walls protect your basement from mold, mildew and moisture. If your walls are not strong enough, chances are your basement will not survive against the elements.
There are many types of basement wall systems that you could install in your own basement. Even if they are different types, they all need to become waterproof so that the walls can last longer.
Aluminum Poured Wall System
This is one of the easiest wall systems that you could install in your basement. You could easily pour in nine feet worth of wall and you will not end up with rod holes that you will need to fill. Configuring this type of wall system is easy as well, especially for corners and angles.
Wood Form Wall System
This is the next popular type of wall system. In some cases, this type of wall system ends up less expensive than the aluminum poured wall system. The downside to the wood form wall system is that you will need rods to hold up the wall before the installation is complete. Thankfully, a lot of basement companies offer warranties for leaky basements.
Styrofoam Wall System
This technology is fairly new and still a little expensive. The Styrofoam serves as a great insulator for the basement. The sound proof quality of this basement wall system is astounding as well. The Styrofoam is also great for mold resistance, which would significantly increase the life of your basement.
